Beyond Complete Projects: Outside of the Day Job

At Complete Projects, we believe our responsibilities extend far beyond delivering exceptional legal and project management services. Beyond the day job, we work hard to make a positive impact through partnering with charitable and social initiatives. Here are some highlights of  key projects we've undertaken recently.

International Bar Association (IBA)

As part of our ongoing pro bono work with the IBA, throughout 2024,  Keith, Marina and James from Complete Projects have been collaborating with the IBA’s Section on Energy, Environment, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure Law to help develop global regulatory guidelines that aim to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainability Development Goals.

Together with an international team from law firms in Argentina (O’Farrell) and Italy (Macchi di Cellere Gangemi) and academics from the Externado de Columbia University, the team have been grappling with the issues of national sovereignty and the collaborative use of natural resources by Nation States to enable a just energy transition.

The IBA guidelines are expected to be published in Autumn 2024 and will provide a critical framework for ensuring that energy and environmental practices align with global sustainability objectives.

Access Sport

In March 2024, four of our team members - Daria, Keith, Mick, and Vanessa - participated in the London Half-Marathon and 10k at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Their mission was to raise funds for Access Sport, a charity focused on promoting inclusivity in sports for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Access Sport is committed to breaking down barriers by providing training, equipment, and support to community clubs and volunteers. Thanks to the hard work of our team and the generosity of our supporters, we raised nearly £1,200. These funds will help Access Sport continue its vital work, ensuring that more young people have the opportunity to experience the benefits of community sports.

Against Malaria Foundation

For over a decade, Complete Projects has proudly supported the Against Malaria Foundation (AMF), a charity working to prevent malaria through the distribution of anti-malaria nets. Our donations have helped protect over 14,500 people across eleven countries in Africa and Papua New Guinea.

Malaria remains one of the leading public health challenges in many parts of the world, and the provision of mosquito nets is a simple yet highly effective solution. Each net we help to fund contributes to saving lives and offers hope to communities in need. We’re proud to support the Against Malaria Foundation in its life-saving efforts.

The Selby Trust

Our involvement with The Selby Trust began when Daria, one of our Senior Project & Programme Managers, connected with the charity through her work with Haringey Council. The Selby Trust focuses on empowering individuals from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities, refugees, and other historically excluded groups through education and community engagement.

With James’, our Senior Business Analyst and PMO, technical expertise, we were able to donate  seven high-quality laptops that were no longer needed by Complete Projects. These laptops have become essential tools in The Selby Trust’s Digital Skills Training program, helping disadvantaged adults gain the skills they need to succeed in both their personal and professional lives.
